We can't wait to serve with CIRA at World Refugee Day!
The World Refugee Day celebration is an event led by refugees in the city to honor and teach about the refugee experience. People from all over the world, fleeing impossible suffering, find themselves among us as our neighbors. Out of that suffering comes a vibrant and beautiful human experience: a testimony to God's ability to redeem. By partnering with CIRA, we're treating the foreign born as the native among us by facilitating a celebration of who they are!
At Local Missions, we believe that we are following Jesus into greater compassion for our city. We'll do that by assisting in the "food court" area, serving foods from various cultures, greeting, cleaning, and filling in for any other requests from the team!
IF THERE ARE NO VOLUNTEER SLOTS AVAILABLE:
We would love you all to join us on World Refugee Day as attenders! It's a fully free event open to all, highlighted by art, food, performances, and informational fairs!
